Breast Feeding

Breastfeeding is recommended. It is beneficial for the mother, because it helps her to return to her pre-pregnancy physique. Moreover, it’s the perfect food for the new-born.

Usually 8-12 feeds are needed in 24 hours. Breastfeeding should be on demand.

The intake of liquids, and healthy foods, such as fruits and vegetables, must be increased. However, you have to avoid some foods e.g.; excessive caffeine; fish containing foods; chocolate, acts as a laxative for the baby; parsley or peppermint, decrease milk supply; citrus foods and peanuts, can cause allergy to the newborn. You also need to observe any change in your baby’s bowel habits.
