A General Physician is a medical doctor who specializes in the non-surgical treatment of all types of diseases, illnesses and injuries affecting the body. General Physicians treat all kinds of medical conditions, including conditions that affect the cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, neurological and endocrine systems. They are trained to do all diagnostic tests and procedures and can prescribe a diverse range of tests appropriate to your condition such as an electrocardiogram (ECG), urinalysis (U/A), blood sugar level, blood pressure and others. Some general physicians might develop their area of interest in one specific field or they may carry on practicing in more than one area. General Physicians usually give primary care treatment and can refer the patient to other specialists for further treatments.
